Fuckin cover letter?

It’s pretty terrifying…

to know that in a year I’ll be getting ready to graduate from college and thrown into the real world.

I could choose to double major and stay an extra semester, but then that’s another semester tuition to pay off, another semester of school work, another semester of anticipating the future, another semester tied down to college.

shiiiiiit i’m almost done with college after this semester!

Gratitude

I’m thankful for my best friends. We may not see each other every day, sometimes we can even go weeks without hanging out, but we’re still best friends and have been since middle school. Not a lot of girls can say that they’re still best friends with the same people since thirteen.

Is this thing still on?

The pitter patter of my heart as it

beats against your iron fist

reminds me of those autumn nights

of candy corn kisses and

orange leaves in the swimming pool

when you would imprint a love letter

on the back of my wrist

with the slight trace of your finger

and not even the fears of midnight

would keep your chariot

from sweeping your effervescent soul away.

But that same gentle hand

that used to safely cradle me tight

now rubs my tender cheek

while you wail “I’m sorry”

as my bruised bottom lip

drips blood on the peeling linoleum floor.

I drown in your whisky drenched breath

as you force your tongue against mine

and as you undress me with those iron fists

the only thing that keeps my conscious

from slicing my throat with a nearby steak knife

are the memories from those autumn nights.
